FAQs
No, you don’t need any experience at all to join these sessions. We start by getting a feel for everyone’s level and get set up with routes everyone can climb. We’ve got you!
It will feel different, yes — and that’s the whole point. The rock has texture, the holds aren’t colour-coded, and the setting is nothing like four walls and a mat. But your footwork, your breathing, your problem-solving — all of that comes with you. The job of a guide is to bridge that gap, and that’s exactly what we do.
We start where you’re comfortable and build from there. A typical first outdoor day sits somewhere between 4 and 6a on the French scale — accessible moves, good rock, zero pressure to push your limit unless you want to.
No. We bring all the gear you’ll need. Just bring water, sun protection, and something to eat.
No! You don’t need to worry too much about your fitness for these sessions. Sure, a basic level of general fitness helps; you’ll find it easier to move, climb and maintain your energy for the full session.
Typically there would be 4-8 people in the group. But we always have at least one guide for every 4 people. Everyone needs time to rest between climbs too, so don’t worry you’ll have plenty of personal attention and time to climb. And for private groups – we take up to 12 for one session, but can tailor make days to work for more people.
Malta gets roughly 300 days of sun a year, but we do monitor conditions closely. If a session needs to be rescheduled for weather or safety reasons, we’ll let you know as early as possible and find an alternative date. We don’t run sessions in conditions that compromise the experience.
Anyone can climb, at any age! With Ġebla, we can take kids from 6 years and up – and there is no upper age limit! We just need you to be healthy and relatively mobile, and come with plenty of enthusiasm!
